What does it mean to be intersectional and queer in Pakistan?
It means we stand in solidarity with
people who don’t make a living wage
indentured / bonded labourers
Bengalis and Biharis
refugees & displaced persons
and anyone marginalized by privilege.
What does solidarity look like?
Solidarity is not a place of comfort. It comes through struggling together, to find a place that we can stand and fight. There are no natural alliances. We have to work across our own boundaries, privileges and discomforts to come to a place where we can stand against oppression. The oppressions that are upon us maybe seem disparate, but they are connected. And it is only if we collectively raise our voices and stand against these multi-dimensional oppressions, that there can be change.
